Breakthrough Miami is empowering the next generation of leaders by turning ideas into opportunity through innovative academic and entrepreneurship programming.
Over the past year, more than 150 Scholars engaged in a dynamic entrepreneurship curriculum designed to build confidence, creativity, and real-world skills. Through hands-on learning, students explored the design thinking process, developed business ideas, and received personalized coaching from university students, business professionals, and entrepreneurs.
A highlight of the program included partnerships with the University of Miami School of Business, where Scholars gained firsthand exposure to college and career pathways. Interactive experiences such as career days, campus visits, and mentorship opportunities allowed students to connect with professionals and better understand what it takes to launch a business.
The impact has been both measurable and meaningful. Scholars reported increased confidence in learning complex concepts, developing business plans, and applying entrepreneurial skills to real-world situations. Through a culminating Business Challenge, students pitched innovative ideas that addressed real community needs—demonstrating growth in critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership.
Beyond the classroom, Scholars expanded their horizons by attending Miami’s premier tech conference, #eMergeAmericas, where they connected with industry leaders and explored cutting-edge innovations.
This year also marked continued growth, with expanded programming across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties—bringing these transformative opportunities to even more students.
