Expanding Access to STEM Across New York City
Empowering youth, engaging communities, and inspiring future innovators through hands-on science learning
NYSCI continues to expand its reach and impact, delivering engaging STEM experiences to nearly 250,000 museum visitors while extending its programming to thousands more students, educators, and families across New York City.
Investing in the Next Generation
Through the Science Career Ladder program, NYSCI provided workforce training and paid positions to 136 young people, primarily from Queens. Participants gained hands-on experience, built professional skills, and explored future pathways through career expos, college fairs, and industry-focused events.
Creating real-world opportunities for youth to learn, earn, and envision their future in STEM.
Strengthening STEM Education
NYSCI supported more than 20,000 students and 3,000 teachers through a wide range of programs—from early childhood STEM enrichment to citywide initiatives that bring hands-on science learning into classrooms and communities.
Building Community Connections
Access and inclusion remain central to NYSCI’s mission. Over 10,000 local residents visited free of charge during weekly community hours, and large-scale events continue to bring families together while celebrating the diversity of surrounding neighborhoods.
Driving Innovation Through Experience
The launch of CityWorks, a major exhibition on urban infrastructure, has already attracted 125,000+ visitors. The exhibit encourages visitors to explore how cities function and sparks conversations around sustainability, resilience, and the future of urban life.
Advancing Research & Thought Leadership
NYSCI continues to lead in innovative STEM education through multi-year research initiatives that empower students to investigate real-world issues and contribute to community-based solutions. The organization also shares its expertise on national and global stages.
